"My two children are in their second year at Free Horizon Montessori and are excited about learning- what a dream for a parent to watch. The teachers and staff are amazing at inspiring them everyday. My child, who is on an ALP, is challenged and feels very successful and validated. The school administration has displayed exceptional Montessori Leadership. I am looking forward to assistants back in the classroom to help out the lead teachers and the continued success and growth in the school."

"I love this school! My Kindergartener (her 2nd year) is thriving - reading out loud, skip counting by multiples of 2, 4, 5 and 10 and writing in her journal every day. K has a max ratio of 1 teacher to 10 students (30 max), which is unheard of elsewhere. The new administration is acting on people's comments immediately in 2013 - student: teacher ratios are improving as assistants are being reestablished in 1st-3rd grade this year (4-6 is goal for future). FHM is refocusing on Montessori fundamentals going forward - including a Montessori principal and Montessori certification (plus specials will move to the pm for an uninterrupted am work cycle, and Montessori-certified staff will be favored in hiring). This means more emphasis on individualized learning - advanced in reading and writing? Your child will be challenged - even several grades above their level. Need extra help in math? Coaches are offered to get kids up to the expected level. Yes even test scores are being addressed - new work cycles are going to address the practical life skill of test-taking. Things are improving - right now. The future is Very Bright!"

"After less than a month of enrollment, we also removed our son. We've posted our dis-satisfactions only to find our feedback was removed. If that isn't a sign.... I don't know what is....... we rec'd mis-leading information from the beginning and rec'd much appeasement from coordinators and instructors. Our son learned nothing and found it a waste of his valuable 3rd grade education."

"Oh man I can't tell you how happy I am that we got out of there in time! Really too bad because this school had been a great school at one time. However, with all the changes made for 2011-12, it was no longer Montessori (Marie is rolling over in her grave) and the student teacher ratio was just not acceptable. Also lost several very valuable teachers. Please be very careful about this school...academically it is not acceptable nor will your child actually be receiving a Montessori education. Very sad indeed. It had such promise."

"FHM matches our parenting value system: emotional growth, critical thinking, appealing to all learning styles, exposure to the wonders of the world and preparation for life and personal responsibility. Montessori education is focused not only on teaching "how" to learn (as opposed to learning "facts" and taking written tests). Recent state funding budget cuts have posed huge problems to FHM and all schools. It's a tricky business making it all work. New administration and Board of Directors is focused on lowering class ratios and creating the optimal environment for kids."
