"the biggest mistake I have made is switching my children from a private school to Mahopac High School. I have had nothing but trouble in this school. my daughter is a senior and now it's tooo late to switch her back. I would not recommend this school district to anyone. They call themselves blue ribbon schools. They haven't been blue ribbon since the 90's."

"This school cannot offer kids anything. They do not have enough teachers for the kids that they have. Most classes are unavailable to take because of the reduced teachers. They have 5 principles which is obviously not needed. They spend money on building a new entrance rather then hiring more teachers. I would not recommend this school."

"This school offers an excellent opportunity for strong academics especially for bright students who require broad course offerings and honors classes. Much better than private school alternatives in the area."

"This school is great! My kids were in private school until middle school. I see a difference. From a parent who (thought) was paying for higher quality education, I almost did an injustice to my children by not moving to Mahopac sooner. No school is perfect. The complainers and haters should be more involved with their child s education. School is not a form of babysitting. I m a fulltime working parent. If your child wants to learn, the achievement and possibilities are endless. In addition to regular classes, AP and college courses are available. Extra help in every subject is available if needed. The teachers and the principal are open to suggestions and appreciate parental involvement. The school and the neighborhood is very very safe. I am proud to announce my child will be going to a top college in New York in the fall."

"I've found the high school to have great math teachers and social studies teachers..the science seems weak..I think parent involvement is great compared to my other school district (Lakeland). As for environment, the school is very large, almost the size of a small college...there is relatively no violence for this size school. As for cliques, all high schools have this problem and luckily we all live through it and get to college where it is so different. My overall review is great!"
