"As a former student of GPHS I can honestly say that I wouldn't trade my experience there for anything. Not only did participation in their excellent Orchestra Program, Cheerleading, Golf team and student body aid in the procurement of a full scholarship to Columbia University - once there I was as prepared or more prepared for my courses than many students who had gone to expensive prep schools. Particularly Mr. Alves, Baldwin and many others not only equipped me for college, but taught me something invaluable - how to think."

"Grants Pass High School is one of the very best high schools in Southern Oregon. The faculty strives to offer all students the opportunity to grow and learn. The School Board and Administration have made this a safe and responsive school to the community needs. If you are moving to our area, it will be immediately evident to you as you enter this school that this is a great place for your children to attend. We have the top band program in the state and a wide array of sports programs and active clubs. There are an advanced courses for those who wish challenge themselves. The Theater Arts produces first rate performances in the Performing Arts Center which has no equal in the state. Two of the staff members at this school have Doctorates in their subject area and most of the faculty has their master s degrees. The Grants Pass High School Foundation gives out over 2 million dollars each year in scholarship awards on scholarship night. The school also boasts a multi- level alternative education schools for students who don t fit in to the regular school environment. No other school in the area has such opportunities."

"I think if your child is really into the High School experience as my first child was, they will be self motivated enough to navigate their way through school successfully. My second child had a horrible experience with this school. They have no tolerance for individuality or children they may be a little different. I wish for my second child I would have moved him to one of the county schools as they really care about every student and not just focus on the sports minded and honor role class."

"I'd rate it a 3. The teaching staff could care less about the students. They have a homework site and a parent connect site were grades and assignments can be chencked on but this is not used by all the teachers or updated frequently enough. Two years in a row at least one on my daughters teachers did not post their final grades. We had to contact the school in the fall and have this corrected so my daughter would get her credits for passing the class. It took a month and multiple calls to the school to have her transcript corrected. Phone calls to the principal or councilor are rarly returned. The school switched my daughters math teacher mid year and she suddely started failing algebra. I was never notified of the switch or that she was all of a sudden failing. They don't care."
