"We had three children go through Doak. Overall, it is a good school, but does need improvement is some areas: the gifted education program is not able to provide more academic learning for high achievers, do to lack of staff and teachers do not like the interuption, nor do teachers have the capability to allow a high-achiever child to be fully challenged in the classroom. Special needs children get much assistance, but if your child is a high achviever, they are not challegened to their full potential. I have had a child in each category, and am very familiar with this subject."

"My son is graduating from Chuckey-Doak high. We look back at his years at Doak as a great spring board for high school. He's been very successful with his classes. We contribute his success to the teachers he had at Doak. You have some good and bad in all schools, for the most part the teachers and the staff at Doak care and want the students to excell in academics. My only complaint with the academics is that the teachers are sometimes okay with a c or a passing grade even though the parents and themselves know the student can do better. I wish Doak was more able to give good students more time and challenge them a little more. It sure would have been nice to have had more field trips. We didn't see any of the museums close by.Oak Ridge and etc."

"My children have went to Doak School for five years. There is a very giving staff and I am very pleased with the education they have recieved. They keep my kids out of trouble and keep them safe. There are many other schools in Greene Co. that have high drug use and teens having babies. From my point of view, I do not see this going on or becoming a problem at Doak. I think that Doak is a good school and cares about the kids long after school is dismissed!"
