"I have recently left Greenwich Academy due to circumstances not related to Greenwich Academy in any way. The high school is a slightly unfair place where how much the student's father makes affects the teachers help toward the student's college application. So if you are looking for a good high school, I do not recommend Greenwich Academy. However, their Lower School and Middle School program is amazing and any child's success will start there. Greenwich Academy teaches students to be organized, responsible, and healthy. Their lunches are all-inclusive, and they have many choices that are healthy with a reasonable amount of sweets to award the students."
"Sorry, I mean #2 is a bunch of chiz!!! I said it wrong in the last one..."
"Nightmare! We moved to Greenwich for the public schools, but when it came time for high school we brought our daughter to GA so she could participate at a higher level in her sport. What a huge mistake! This place should be called Stepford Academy, and is filled with Stepford wives, and little Stepford wives in training. The entire school is geared to catering to the girls of rich families, and if you aren't one of them, your girl will be at the bottom of the class. That means in all aspects. She won't get the classes she wants, the grades she deserves, the attention from the college counselor she needs. We've heard story after story of the same thing from other families, none of whom will speak up for fear of reprisals against their daughters. Keywords for GA: hyper-competitive, back-stabbing, snobby, over-privileged. I wish I'd heeded the warnings I heard before sending my daughter. Do your due diligence, don't go on reputation. Thank God our other child is a boy, and we'll be sending him to Greenwich High. Our daughter made a few good friends, but even she says if she had to do it over again, she would never choose to attend GA!"
"Greenwich Academy is a wonderful school. The teachers are incredible, and they all have close relationships with their students, which I love. The curriculum is challenging, but manageable and definitely prepares you for college. Yes, there are some girls here who are not the nicest, but the majority of students are some of the friendliest and caring people you will meet. Classes are small, and the faculty and administration are really looking out for your best interest. GA really gives you every opportunity to succeed, and will go above and beyond to help you reach your goals. The sports here are top notch, yet there is also a great appreciation for the arts. Overall, GA is a fantastic school and you cannot go wrong sending you child here."
"This school does a great job of giving every student the attention they need to succeed academically. It is very competitive and students who thrive when challenged will have great experiences here. However, for those who easily give in to peer pressure or shy away from acting as leaders, this is probably not the ideal school. It is easy for someone like that to succumb to insecurities and feelings of inadequacy because the expectations are so high and the vast majority of students are extremely impressive."
