"I was surprised to find this site with comments last posted in 2009. Our son graduates this year from Guilford High and I cannot say enough positive things about the quAlity of this school's academic programming, teaching, administrative leadership. Just look at the college placements for graduating seniors and you will get some insight into the quality of the school."

"GHS is a great school. There are some issues requiring attention, however. The main one being that it needs expansion. This, of course, requires funds of which the district and voters are responsible. Without the involvement of all concerned it may take many more years to accomplish this. I also think there should be a modesty dress code. Some of the clothing I have seen the kids wear to school is horrible and distasteful."

"As a former student the school physically is falling apart! Classes choices are very thin without many electives. The music program is very good, but the new administration has taken away many of the responsibilities high school students should be learning so that College isn't a complete culture shock. The teachers are not that bad."

"The new administration has made changes to the schedules, but we had hoped for improvements. Unfortunately, it turns out that my son's backpack is now 50% heavier, the books are still filled with pictures (dumb it down), and one of the 'thought problems' in the math book refers to a 'future' event that is planned for 1998! There are too many kids in the lunch line, so some kids still do without lunch - in prior years that was understood, and the kids were allowed to snack in classes, but no more! All-in-all for 2008: many changes, but few improvements! How can this be so difficult to do?"

"There are barely any elective classes. But the classes go at a fast pace which i love. The new schedule is confusing and hard"
