"I graduated from AHS several years ago and believe it is a great institution of learning, if effort is put forth. Just like any other school, the teachers cannot force the students to learn, 50% of the responsibility for learning relies on the students eagerness to learn. I put forth effort, was popular and well liked, and I graduated top of my class. I went on to graduate from LSU with my bachelors degree and am now an executive for a corporation. Ignore the negative comments, those people just did not put forth the effort, and are trying to blame everyone for their shortcomings."

"I graduated from Albany about 9 years ago. Its a popularity contest. I was popular but Im grown now so I can see how horrible Albany was. Take my word on what im saying because im stating what I know for a fact. If a student is not into sports(cheerleading included) then they are on their own. Out of all the different classes I had I can count on one hand of the teachers that actually "TAUGHT". All the other teachers put notes on the board or overhead that you have to copy then take a test on the notes at the end of the week. This school is about politics. Its all about who you know or who you are. If you don't know anyone then your in trouble. And yes they are too strict about the uniforms. If they would care more about teaching and the academics then they would have a much higher average on how many students that would attend college and succeed. When I graduated it was maybe 5-6 students that went to college and succeeded. Well its more than 5 or 6 if you count going to beauty school."

"I currently attend AHS. the only thing there is to say about this school is that its wonderful, and no student here would rather be anywhere else. We have a very strict no tolerance policy and the teachers always make one on one time with students who need it. As an honors student, and a senior, I can say that the experiences both academically and socially that i have had here have without a doubt prepared me for my future."

"Albany High school is an excellent institution. AHS curriculum is more than adequate in preparing a student to success at entering and graduating any college or university. However parent must be involved in the process. At times the staff is lacking in informing parents when a student is not performing to their abilities. With a little addition effort the staff could become excellent communicators."

"Albany High is one of the greastest schools I have ever attended. Although I do not agree with the strict use of uniforms, the code of conduct and disciplinary action seems to be set with high expectations of myself and my peers. I believe this is because the staff knows the ability of the student body to do better. I'm glad to be an Albany Hornet, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else than A-Town"
