"North Topsal is the best I have seen in meeting the needs of individual learners. Teachers teach students at their performance levels and group them in small groups for instruction. Teachers regulary attend workshops to remain current on differeniation techniques and the performance of the students shows they are receiving the best education from the best staff. I am proud to say my children go to NTES."

"It is very hard for a teacher to teach 20-25 kids something different. Teachers have to teach what most of the kids in the class need. Too many fundraisers? Three? Fall Festival went back to the teachers and playgroud equipment. Santa's Workshop was given to needy families. All of our fundraisers are volunteer not mandatory. If you will talk to other parents from different schools you will be surprised. Has there ever been a free education? Just think without fundraisers we would not have a playground or half of our library books, etc!"

"My daughter is in kindergarten at NTES, and we are withdrawing her at the Christmas break in order to homeschool. She can read, but her class is still learning the sounds each letter makes. We were told that 15 out of the 20 children didn't know the alphabet, so they're teaching to the slower kids. Meanwhile my daughter's kept busy with endless coloring sheets, and not learning anything new except what I teach her at home. Same story with math. She wants to learn Spanish but it's not offered until high school. Also, alcohol and drug awareness weeks for kindergartners is ridiculous. They should be taught about that stuff at home and learn the three r's at school, not the other way around! Plus there are way too many fundraisers. Whatever happened to a 'free' public education? Even the best public schools are no match for home education."

"I moved here thinking i was putting my kids in a very motivated school only to learn that the PTA board members were stuck up and rude. Parents never talked to me nor did they make me or my family feel welcomed. For such a school to have good test scores, I rate the atmosphere very low. The teachers that my children had were wonderful. But it takes more than teachers to make a schoold good. It takes the parents too and they were the rudest people I have ever met. I tried to help but only got the cold shoulder from all the parents I met. Maybe they need to teach the PTA board how to welcome new families to the area."

"My child has just completed Kindergarten at NTES. Our entire family has been blessed by the loving and caring staff at this school. Although there were 21 Kindergarteners in our child's class, the teacher and assistant were extrememly patient and attended to each and every child's individual and educational needs. The children were amazingly self-sufficiant by mid-year, and most were reading independently and writing sentences and stories. Proper social skills, manners and respect are taught and expected from the students. For the parents who are concerned about the 'closed door policy': Parents are welcomed and encouraged to be in the school at any time. We escorted our child to the classroom every morning and received daily communication from his teachers. Signing in at the office is the only way of monitoring who is in the school, which is for your child's safety. Please try NTES before forming your opinion."
