"If I had to redo my schooling fifty times, I would choose University Lake School each and every time. I know that if I had gone to a big middle school, I would've been absolutely invisible and would've faced serious bullying for being an overweight nerd. Without going to ULS, I would still be terrible at math and would never be acquainted with art, which are now my two favorite subjects. By the end of middle school, I was a much happier person than when I started thanks to the care of the teachers around me and the kindness of my fellow classmates. By the end of my freshman year, I had discovered a new love for athletics and found the dedication to become the strong person I always wanted to be. Without the guiding hand of the teachers and classmates, I would've had a very different high school career, one that I dread to think about."

"Every teacher is available outside of class and willing to walk a student through what they have questions about or don't fully understand. Classes use a variety of resources to educate, including the Internet, textbooks, and hands-on experiments, all of which is very helpful in understanding new concepts. If someone asks a question, teachers will answer to the very best of their knowledge, even if the subject is somewhat tangential or seems silly at first. Classes can have papers and various types of projects along with the standard homework and quizzes. Even our math classes make use of projects such as ConstructCalc and Math Slogans, and students will save up witty jokes / phrases to use in their math projects. The teachers care what's happening in students' lives; my Physics teacher used a period to talk with the class about our low average grade on a previous test and to calm down students who were becoming stressed about their grades. I doubt I would've gotten any advice like that from teachers in other schools, and I'm grateful for it."

"The students are very friendly. Since it is a small, private school and most of the students have attended all of their lives, the cliques tend to be harder to break through, however, over my three years attending, the cliques have lessened and the social atmosphere improved."

"The faculty is incredible. They truly care about teaching the student. They are very open to meeting outside of school hours and make a conscious effort to help you understand. The students are fun and positive, but can be a bit cliquey. However, as far as small private schools go, the cliques really aren't too bad."
