"This school (and all district 50 schools) is currently being investigated by the Feds because the superintendent - who is also the head of the special education program, which is a violation in and of itself - went in and changed IEPs without consent of the parents or even notifying other teachers. She said it was because they couldn't afford staffings. Sounds more like laziness to me! @Ariana: I'm glad you like this school, but sweetie, it has a LONG way to go to catch up academically! "Lets be honest, all the district 50 schools are in need. Every year we hear rumors for this program or that program being cut due to lack of funds. With that said, District 50 also has a lot of potential. With the right management and people being held accountable for the students performance on state testing, our children can really go far in life and accomplish their dreams. Harvard Junior High was easy for my children to adjust to, being a new school, and the whole 'junior high' thing, transferring classes, being more independent. The teachers in the junior high really push for the students to do their best and expect them to live up to their potential. The school is a safe environment for children to learn and be taught. The teachers there easy to talk to and to get ahold of, if you need to discuss something."

"The Harvard Junior High School is good in academic programs. I am not good at math so my teacher gives me extra help in math after school. I always learn new thing each year, and we hav pretty much every sport except Tennis and golf.We also have dances and incentive trips do the movies;the 8th graders get to go to Springfield and to the Cub's game. When we have assemblies about 50% of he parents go."
