"My daughters have attended Sacred Heart for several years and we have been very pleased with the academics. Besides a challenging curriculum, the girls have learned important study skills, as well as skills in organization and time management. Starting in Middle School, the girls are required to take midterm exams as well as final exams. Learning how to manage one's time, and organize a semester's-worth of class material, to prepare for an exam is invaluable and I feel that it positions them well to succeed in High School and beyond. One of the strengths of the school is teaching the girls how to write. In Middle School, each grade builds upon the previous year and by 7th grade the girls are doing critical analyses and writing effective term papers. I feel this, too, sets them up for success in High School and beyond. Yes, its a small school, but the core curriculum is strong and students who are willing to work hard will get a lot out of it. The school also excels at instilling a lifelong sense of service in the girls, as well as a love of God - important values that the girls will take with them for life."

"At SH it appears that the "traditions" are more important than offering interesting classes. Because the school is so small, they only offer classes on alternative years or every three years. Well, good luck trying to be placed into the class you want. Also the classes that are suppose to be more challenging are what I expect the typical class to be. Some of the teachers seem to be burnt out or unwilling or unable to create interesting classes. Now, let me say, yes there are a few nice girls, but there are also some that will rip you apart or even worse, totally ignore you. I saw this happen to someone who was ignored. Everyone around her was laughing and having a ball. She sat silent and alone..."

"Do not make the mistake with your daughter's education that we did! The administration is a group of "mean girls". The staff is unprofessional and the gossip between parents and teachers and administration is unprofessional. Diversity is not welcomed! A student in my daughter's class came out as gay. The administration informed all the parents. Most were offended that we received this information. The girl was asked to not attend the prom and not to throw a Sweet 16 party for fear of sexually harassment. The students continued to include this girl to the dismay of CDSSH staff. Another student became depressed due to a family loss. She was told she could not attend the prom because she would depress other students! They actually bullied a child who was depressed. The students are all sweet they are being educated in a vanilla environment that will not prepare them for the diversity of college or life. We moved my daughter to another local prep school. We have never heard a negative word about another student or family. If you find gossip and drama low class and hateful then move on to a loving prep school like we did."

"Sacred Heart is a wonderful school. It prepares the girls academically, but, just as importantly, nurtures them socially and spiritually. Ask any student or parent: Sacred Heart is a family. Where else do the high school girls know lower schoolers by name and give them hugs and piggyback rides? It is that sense of community - rooted in faith and a rich international, 200+ year old Sacred Heart tradition - that allows these girls to flourish. And, if you think no one from a smaller, single-sex, Catholic, Sacred Heart school can flourish, you are wrong. You can look to the Kennedy women, Maria Shriver, Cokie Roberts, Grace Kelly, Empress Michiko of Japan, and Lady Gaga (to name a few) for the answer to that question. It is an excellent school, and will make your daughter an excellent person."

"I am surprised upon reading negative reviews of Sacred Heart. I graduated from Sacred Heart and attend an elite university, for which I was well prepared (particularly due to SH's strong emphasis on humanities and writing which you do plenty of in college!). I had an extremely positive experience. Sacred Heart is a small nurturing environment, where teachers truly care about the well being of their students. The small size may limit course offerings but I feel it provided more opportunities that would not necessarily be easily attainable at a larger school. SH is unique in that there is a network of SH schools across the country and the world, so students can do exchanges. My best friend in college also attended a SH school, leading to an instant connection. We bonded immediately over our special SH traditions. Sacred Heart is a family. Looking back, I am so grateful I chose Sacred Heart."
