"The schools academics are not bad. I love all of my teachers, but then again I take AP and honors, so some of the other teachers that I have not had I've heard complaints about but nothing too bad. There is a struggle with math in the students who attend here, as shown by the SOL scores, but I know plenty of people in extremely advanced math classes and are excelling."

"I love the unique opportunities for students to go to Governors school and to have dual college enrollment. The testing preparation from teachers is horrible. They have a wonderful trade school opportunity selection. An average sports selection, but some offerings like Crew are unique. There is a very strong ROTC program. This school is overcrowded and there needed to be another high school for this area. Teachers are overworked and underpaid, so its very hard to get the good ones to stay."

"The only thing I really got out of this school was a social aspect. Teachers didn't care and the moto was "no child left behind." The bad kids got better treatment and the good kids were ignored. When I explain high school to peers I simply tell them it was like we could do whatever we wanted to. Rules weren't very strict and never inforced. You could miss as many days as you wanted to and they would always sign an attendance waiver at the end of the day. The budget was low so there was many funded things throughout the school. They put in a policy that if you had below a 40 your grade would automatically be a 40 so all in all you could not do anything for three semesters and still pass. I would redo it for the social aspect but academically wise, no I would not. I feel as if I was completely unprepared for the world following high school. Such a shame."
