"We have been VERY disppointed with the education at this school. The teachers (at least the one in question) use the lower funds of Utah's education program as an excuse of why they can't teach our child properly. If you have a gifted or advanced child, this school is NOT for you. Nothing is being done to challenge them and they are being held back with the rest of their class. When asked if there is anything that can be done to use advanced teaching or if there are extra opportunities for more challenging work, the response is generally that the child has to wait for the rest of the class to catch up. Heber Valley Elementary's Mission statement states that it will "guide children in the achievement of their highest individual potential". This is OBVIOUSLY not being done at this school. They are more interested in having everyone the same rather than help each individual child to achieve their fullest potential. On a non-academical note. Their security is non-existant. You can just walk in without giving your name or signing in and be given a visitor's pass. Children are encouraged to come to school sick rather than keep illness at bay."

"I have 3 children at HVE. I've been impressed with the staff and their commitment to the students there. My children love their teachers. I've appreciated the balance of the arts and academics. It's my belief that HVE produces well-rounded individuals and fosters a desire for learning."

"I have two students in this school. My children have had both the opportunity to have great help in the school as well as to succeed through a gifted and talented program. The school has a downside in which I find that programs, etc. are not well organized. I feel that the school is average and could provide a better reading and math program to encourage children. I find that there is not a lot of homework and what does come home takes less than 10 minutes to complete. I would like to see my children learning and completing more on a project basis. Overall, I would say that all the schools in the area are average."
