"I was a former student at this school, all the staff people are great! I moved to a school at a diffrent state and they are nothing like West Valley. And to the lady with the teacher comment, that is the truth! Teachers are not paid to dwell over a student or thier grades they are there to teach, it's up to the student to pay attention and actually learn something, and if you say your daughter does as well as you say she does then she should have no problem getting along with the school, or any other."

"My daughter attends West Valley High school, she previously attended private school in which she did very well but wanted to try public school. Some teachers are ok but most of the teachers don't care to help the students who need help, one teacher made a comment in her class ' I don't care if you pass this class because I get paid anyways' This is the attitude most teachers have now."

"I think that things are too easy to come across at that school. The educators and safety officers do not pay enough attention at all."

"I am a former student of West Valley High School and went on to a Tier 2 private university after graduation. I spent most of my time in AP and honors classes. In advanced classes I felt that the teachers were very committed but they could have pushed us harder. In general classes some of the teachers would start lectures reading from the teacher's addition, 'the book says...' I was very involved in extracurricular activities and I found most of my academic support there. The counseling staff was spotty at best, my counselor refused to write me a recommendation to NYU. In college I found myself embarrassed by some of the things I didn't know. I think this speaks to a larger problem with public schools but there is support to be found if the student and parent are committed to education."
