"I love this school for all of the activities they have, marching band, the spring musical, various instrumental chamber groups and so many other activities, not just athletics, which is what I think Is great about this school."

"I enjoy attending Hightstown High School most of the time. With a lot of my teachers and coaches I am able to have a wonderful relationship. The better teachers really care about not only your grades, but your well-being. For example, my pre-calc teacher last year was wonderful. He would make time to help help me, whenever it was convenient for me, even if that meant after school or during his lunch. I've had several teachers with this wonderful attitude. However, I have had a few teachers who have no idea what they are doing. In my freshman year, I had the absolute worst business teacher ever. She was nervous while she was teaching, and she didn't seem to have a complete knowledge of the curriculum. She was never able to get the class's attention, and the students often took advantage of her weak demeanor. I learned absolutely nothing in that class. Although, I will give my school credit because they made sure that the teacher did not return the next year. My school is very diverse, and I believe that we are all very accepting of each other's different backgrounds. There aren't too many fights; we all get along for the most part. The students have some school spirit but not an overwhelming amount."

"This school is very picky. The teachers choose their favorite students and their worst students right when you come into school. They might prefer their own race or the people they just like. The people they don't like are disrespected at this school. No teacher really respects the students in this school. Some teachers who favor you will respect you and give you an easy time, but others not do much... The students are also very disrespectful. They will argue or disrespect the staff, students, and school. On the contrary, some people in this school are very intelligent and try their very best to succeed and go to college. The school's lunch portion is like the size of your hand. The school is trying to be "healthy" and by that they mean small portions of food. They force you into taking a fruit cup or carrots or whatever is provided. Most people don't eat carrots or fruit so they just throw away the food that the cafeteria workers told them to get. One lunch is probably not going to fill anyone, so people get cookies, chips, and sodas to fill themselves which makes us eat more. Instead of going healthy, the students are probably eating more. Additionally, some teachers should be fired. Some of the teachers that work in Hightstown have been working for more than 10 years and they get tired of the same students with the same routine. Therefore, they get tired of teaching. They snap at people who did nothing and don't teach probably about the subject... For example, I had a teacher that told my classmates that she didn't care if we didn't understand and it's on our own to find out what everything means and do the homework. That makes no sense since she's a teacher and she's supposed to teach us and get paided to do so. In conclusion, Hightstown High School is an accepting place, however in some occasions it's hard to be accepted. The teachers and students are disrespectful, however most intelligent people in the school are very nice and respectful to others."

"This school like any has its good and bad points but, unfortunately I did not receive the best experience. My advice is to make sure you are in honors classes or it will be a tough transition to college. Especially in English, the work done in honors classes compared to the regular classes was very big leap. Where one was excelling the other was doing busy work. The amount of motivated teachers were few to none. A very good point was there were many sports and clubs to join there was something for everyone."
