"Well let's talk about Grundy, where to start there PTA just want's your support financially. However they have the same coffee clutch mothers on the board. Which means when other mothers want to be active in their children's functions and events it's next to impossible. The teachers seem to follow along with this and the same parents are picked for everything. The education is a lot of homework and tests that I believe are to hard for the children. I agree with homework but come on give us a break these kids are in school for six hours. There tired and need a break. Also the homework seems more for the parent because it is apparent it is to difficult for the children to do on there own. This new principal seems to be very nice. The nurses office does not give the warm, loving feel to it for sick students. It is very big and plain and the nurse is very rude and could act more caring."

"Grundy has great potential. Unfortunately the building's environment has seriously taken a nosedive and the main feeling is that parents and faculty are on two seperate sides. Academic programs focus on dittos and not enough enrichment and hands on learning. There is a fear to try and enrich students in new ways. Extracurricular activities have been dwindled during the ten years of my children attending with emphasis on dull learning seminars that just involve the children sitting there and listening and not participating. Lack of parental involvement with only the same players as the voice for our children."

"Grundy is a well maintained, parent-friendly school. I have not encountered any signficant behavior problems (bullying, etc.) within the school. Some of the teachers are less than proactive and do not go the 'extra mile' unless pushed by the parent."

"I think the quality of education is good. I think it could be better. Parent participation especially in the PTA is poor."

"Grundy Avenue is a great school! My daughter was there from 3rd grade to 6th grade and now my son is there in 1st grade. We are very happy with the quality of programs, and the teachers."
