"Hey this my last year at this school and i love it since preK to 4th and its only talking about taks cause their trying to get you ready for it until you move and plus they have to remind you thats its coming up remember im only in 4th grade the teachers a funny, nice, and everything you look for a teacher if you dont like it then dont let your child go to this school what are you talking about other parents we have field trips your child will always go outside like for recess, walks, and more on bad weathers we dont go outside to play we get to move any question ask me."

"I understand all of you who have issues with the fact that Martin may have a focus in certain grades on the TAKS test. But have you taken your child to any other school? I work at a local university and one of the problems that we continue to encounter are students who are not prepared for our first year courses. Do you think this is an issue with the school or with the system? It isn't just the schools job to raise our children. If you feel your child is not receiving enough at their particular school, then go ahead and supplement the education they're receiving with additional classes or educational time with you. We can't rely on schools to raise our children if we want them to succeed. The students who do best are those whose parents are engaged and do what they can to help their student succeed."

"I agree with the bad reviews. The school is very test driven. Everything is TAKS. If your child is smart and doesn't need to be taught for the test, don't send him/her there. HISD has great Vanguard and Magnet schools with the gifted program. They actually teach your child to think, not to take a test."

"Have you read the Houston's Chronicle school report card? Martin didn't even make it to the 400 school list in the Houston area. I can tell you that the last ones on that list are not good schools, so where is Martin? Only 3 schools in the Alief district made it on the list. I am so disappointed!"

"I'm a new parent in the Martin School area and I too am very dissappointed with the staff there, this i my childs 1st yr. there and taks testing is the tops to them, instead if teaching kids how to take test to fail, teach them them the old fashioned way reading, writing, and arithematic, everything that looks good to you ,is not good fopr you .perhaps we as parents should start testing teachers to see if they are upto par!"
