"This were my children first year of school, and i must say it was a terrific year. I don't now what happened in the past at blackshear, but this is a terrific school with great leadership. A very special principal wonderful teachers and staff. And with parent involvement on the rise this school will become even greater."

"Blackshear has been a true inspiration to the students that attend the school. They are confident and know they are able to accomplish anything despite their surroundings. The school has changed tremendously and the principal and staff care about the students and it always shows."

"A lot has changed since the last comment in 2005. The school is under new leadership an moral is up on campus. TEST scores are elevating, staff changes have been made, and over all it is a great inner city school. Teacher and parent communication can be done through email. http://es.houstonisd.org/blackshearES"

"Now that the school has new leadership everything is on the upswing; academics, parent involvement and community/business partnerships. Test scores are improving and staff is working hard to assist students in positive strategies to foster success."

"As a parent and a teacher at Blackshear I must say it has had major improvements. Thanks to the principal and dedication of the teachers the test scores and the schools appearance have improved dramatically. It's a learning community lead by family values."
