"Drew Academy has been the worst school my son has attended. The teachers and front office staff lack communication skills & compassion. I've never had a teacher ignore e-mails, telephone calls, and notes from the principle. I ve even spoken with neighboring schools staff and it seems that everyone knows the lack of proficiency with this school. The schools overall appearance is even concerning. It's either burning up or ice cold, how are you to lean in these conditions? I definitely agree with the students where they are treated like criminals. How do you expect children to act when they are stereo typed before they walk thru the door. You have metal detectors and personal item searches. I can understand you want to ensure the children s safety but at what point do you step back and put yourself in their shoes? How would you feel if you were treated that way? Then you don't want children to have cell phones but at the same time you won t let them use the front office phone. I can go on for days about my dissatisfaction with this school but I will leave you with this...IF YOU CAN AVOID SENDING YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL PLEASE DO SO!"

"I am a parent and i was reading on the reviews of drew academy and i agree with one parent who did type up a comment regarding gt classes. I was requesting the same information as well when my son first started attending drew and i was given the same info. ( That the child would have to have certain scores) no one tried to go out of their way to help with the extra info. And i'm a firm believer ' all the academy schools (which should be the magnet programs) has tremendously gone down hill...Needs major room for improvement.....I am very disappointed with the magnet program that to me no longer exist...."

"Drew Academy is a slightly below-average middle school. They have little trust in their students. Metal detectors are not for a middle school. We are treated more like convicts than students by the way our teachers talk to us. They expect us to act like we have already graduated college & are infuriated when we act like 13 year old children. I think it is unfair that we are treated differently than other students in the district. I understand that coming from a student I may only show my opinion, but it s not just me. It is probably half of the student body. I know you are thinking that I am over-exaggerating but it is the truth. When I entered Drew I expected to write papers, essays, book reports & fairs. I didn't expect disrespect, threats of multiple different punishments, lack of judgment & most importantly lack of trust. Thank you."

"I think this school is alright but it needs improvement I think that the school should have free dress! I also think that this school should allow you to use the lockers."

"I am Former student of Drew Academy I started there the first year drew opened as an academy. I was a student who never really fit in at my schools. Drew was like an answered prayer. The programs are great and the teachers are wonderful and understanding. I think I learned more at drew or absorbed more at drew than any other school I attended after it was a fun learning experience I ever had. It also gave me the confidence to be who I am to day."
