"My child is currently attending Chavez, and so far i have been very pleased. The teachers are good and the principal is great. He is very supportive of the students and he is involved. I have seen him attend many functions, football games ,band , and at theater presentations.Chavez has many wonderful programs for the students,To name a few the band who won The Opus Holland Award of $25,000.00,the theater program and FFA . I .was impressed to hear that more than 900 students attended class during the 2009 Christmas break. Chavez has many wonderful programs and teachers who care and who are leading our children.I hope and pray that they will help our children succed in high school and prepare them for college and the future. Go Lobos!"

"My daughter teaches art there, and loves it. It's a friendly school that serves a largely Hispanic neighborhood and treats everyone with respect."

"I would like to voice that Chavez is under staff. I have been a parent that is very much involved with my daughters education. That school has many issues."

"I am a student and I can say that Chavez isn't the school that I thought it was going to be. The dress code in my opinion is stupid and you get into trouble as quick as wearing capris to school. Although some of these things may be for safety purposes others are just down right dumb."
