"We are a military family with 2 kids at the high school. The school really has been great for my son during the transition stage. The counselors were awesome. The school is huge and there are always alot of different activities/sports going on. My son was involved heavily in sports and it was very competitive. The ROTC program definitely needs some improvement; it is run by the senior students and not faculty. The school is very diverse and my children had no problems making friends easily and adjusting."

"Academic programs - Excellent Availability of extracurricular activities and sport, etc. - Excellent Teachers and staf - Excellent Parent involvement - Poor. Only a small percent become involved. Most just dump their kids off for games and other activities that their kids are involved in, and leave them. They don't stick around to support their children. They seem to think that the after school organizations are there as a babysitter. And worse of all, they allow their kids into organizations that require money for trips, uniforms, etc., knowing this. But they never pay, and don't sell anything for the fundraisers. This leaves other parents taking up the slack."

"MacArthur has great staff and focuses on student needs. The school offers a good education to students of lower socio economic ability. It is clean and well managed."
