"The staff is very supportive and tries hard to ensure that every cild can learn. Many of the issues that Houston Can facesi s the lack of control from the studnets' home situation. Many parents view the school as a 'fix all' place and that is possible. The Parent/Home/School community MUST band together to ensure quality learning and safe/structured learning environments. I have seen students come to Houston Can with no sense of hope and the staff works overtime to build them up so that the learning can take place. They have never been on the new for the lack of student management or violence or misuse of funds. It is a great place for a struggling student who is on the edge of dropping out of high school."

"First off, This is school is a CHARTER SCHOOL, whic means it does not take the place of a regular High School. I am a parent and I was a student of this instution at one point in time. They are there to help Needy students to graduate, not regular kids who just want to go, but teenage parents and high school drop-outs. That is the purpose for Houston Can. It does not and can not take the place a regular high school, and it is not trying to compete with it either. It is there to help and encourage those who thought that they could not achieve a high school diploma."

"We are new to this school but so far so good. My son seems to really like going there and his progress report is okay. I will stay on top of his progress."

"This school has poor leadership. Attendance and academic performance is a clear reflection of this. Staff turnover rate is extremely high. Yet, this school continues to employ the same administrative staff."
