"I'm a new student here at Klein Forest & so far the year has been getting better and better. Before I came here I heard many rumors saying that Klein Forest was "ghetto". I'm 9 weeks into this school year and from my experiences, those rumors have been completely proven wrong. Of course there are the group of kids that don't care for school, but then again which school doesn't have that? This is a very old school compared to the previous one I was enrolled in, but to my surprise Klein Forest is huge. I was expecting graffiti on the walls & chipping paint, but the school could pass as a top of the line campus. I am definitely looking forward to my next few years here at Klein Forest. I've heard of fist fights breaking out, but I haven't seen any. This school is somewhat diverse, but it could be argued. Minorities are the majority here. (Hispanics & African-Americans) There's only a handful of caucasian people and honestly, they're so scarce here that they stand out. Not that it matters, but maybe you were intersted. Overall, Klein Forest is an above average school."

"Anybody who is anybody who watches the news may know us as that school with all those hood kids or that ghetto school. Our school is not ghetto at all it is actually a pretty good school. They have some really good programs at my school and the principle is doing her best to change some things there. I think the school improve by sort there money out better instead of putting it all towards one thing that is actually not that important to us. We could build a stadium, so we could a little nicer and stop being called the poorer ghetto Klein school."

"My son just graduated from Klein Forest and had a wonderful four years.... he's an incoming freshman engineering major at Texas A&M. KF has a special engineering recruiting program with A&M. All of these kids got scholarships and loads of help. The socio-economic makeup of KF scare people away from this school, but both my son and my daughter (who will be a senior) have both had amazing experiences. Music program is top-notch and the quality of education has been fine. Bottom-line: They will work with your child if they want to be involved in multiple activities and you don't have to deal with spoiled, over-privileged children and their helicopter parents. At the end of the day, ... being at a low-income school has its advantages -- even if you can afford to move a few miles away to a "better" school. My children know what the real-world is about and truly appreciate the advantages they've been given."

"As a student here at KF that transferred from another public school, but in a different state, the expectations for this school was not met. Very big school, but the students and teachers are not at their best. Teachers that teach regular classes, don't even give effort to push their students and only give them the minimal work because they underestimate them. Seeing fights here are a daily routine and being able to learn to the best of my ability was not an option while attending KF high school. The teachers could barley handle their students and was causing me to not being able to learn because of all the yelling and screaming."

"I am about to become a senior at KF and as the years have passed, there have been more and more fights going on. At this point, it is absolutely ridiculous. I couldn't even eat lunch in peace because of all of the food fights going on by the last week of school. It is starting to become a regular procedure for all of the students to be dismissed by floors instead of all at once out of the fear that another fight might break out. Don't get me wrong, the majority of the teachers here are awesome and extremely dedicated to their students. Some examples would be Dr. LaFave, Mrs. Sun and many more. The AP and Dual Credit programs and exceptional and the assistant principals and really trying to control the wilder part of the student body. When it comes to this school it's not the teachers that are a major problem, it's those certain students that don't find any satisfaction sitting in a classroom but instead find that feeling in the streets."
