"This "Christian" school has the most questionable form of acceptance and "discipline" that I've ever heard of. The primary reason that you see good reviews here is that, in the student handbook, the school demands you only praise the school, no matter how pitiful it is. The morals on which it stands are twisted and discriminating towards anyone who doesn't 100% concur with all of its "morals" or isn't what the school views as "normal". People may argue that public school would be worse, but honestly, it's much better compared to this school."

"As someone previously stated, private education is not for everyone. Because students are held to a higher standard, some students are dismissed from the school from time to time. It is for this reason that there are sometimes disgruntled parents like the few you see here. Overall, Lutheran South Academy is a fantastic school that provides rigorous academics and tons of extracurricular activities, all in an environment where students can build lasting relationships with teachers and peers. Students leave Lutheran South getting into some of the best schools in the country including Yale, Princeton, etc. I know that when I drop my kids off each day that I am placing them in front of passionate, educated, certified teachers who uphold the same values and morals that I do. I highly encourage anyone interested in private school education on the south side of Houston to seriously look into Lutheran South Academy."

"Both my sons have attended LSA since PreK 3. I love it here. It is a very safe environment and the staff is wonderful. The academics are where they need to be and provide a challenging learning environment. While we were attending LSA my son was diagnosed with ADHD so we have had to move him to public school due to failing grades and needing that extra help that LSA could not provide due to being a small school. After attending public I can say without any doubt private school is the place to have your child. LSA provides a strict and disciplined environment that public school lacks! Join the LSA family you won't regret it!"

"After reading the posts already here, I had to say something. My son started in 2nd grade at LSA when they moved to the current location and continued there until he graduated. My wife and I knew all his teachers, principals, and staff by name and they greeted us by name (unlike with our daughter's schools since she wanted to stay in public school). He enjoyed being there and did not miss a day until his senior year. His, and quite a few of his peers, education was sufficient to score exceptionally high on the SAT, other tests, and college courses while in high school. He and several others of his friends / classmates carried all "A" averages throughout their years at LSA and have continued those grades while attending college (he's at UT). For them, the education they received at LSA properly prepared them to attend some of the best schools in the country. Is it the right school for every child? Probably not, but if you care for their academic learning, and want to be involved, it will probably be right for your situation. Based on hindsight, we wish we had sent our daughter there instead of public school. I highly recommend this school."

"Uh, hi! I'm a student at LSA. I go to the highschool there and have been attending this school for more than 6 years! I love LSA! Before i transfered there in 4th grade, I had been to 5 schools, all of which i did not like nearly as much as LSA. Anyone who goes to this school can interact socially with many students. It isnt areally a big school. My class of 2014 isn't even 200 kids! The Bible Study program is great for a Christian family and the teachers have humor and brains all in one! LSA has many academic programs including PSIA and National Junior Honours Society. PSIA is a competitive program for students (not sports) that includes reading, poem writing, math, art and more! LSA has had many changes in staff over the past few years. We cant seem to hold down a Choir teacher (we've had a new one every single year for the past 3 or 4 years) and in the 10-11 school year we lost around 3 teachers (due to family reasons of course) LSA nontheless is a great learning enviromnent and i would highly suggest it AS A STUDENT here! GO SOUTH PIONEERS! :)"
