"As a former teacher of Garcia, I'd say the Principal is adequate, but not an 'above and beyond' type. She has her good days and her bad, but the one thing most of us teachers didn't like is that she doesn't thoroughly think things through always. There's alot of quick decisions being made w/o consideration to all stakeholders. The teachers there are wonderful, work harder than you can ever imagine, and care deeply. But with TAKS testing being so high stakes, the children still get it shoved a little much down their throats."

"As a parent in a professional field of a child that attended school here,I found this school to be a terrible experience. Quality of leadership in the individuals that assist here beginning with the Principal, are just completely unprofessional, with negative attitudes and a defensive manner. I will never look at this school in a positive view nor go back, or advise anyone to attend school here."

"Despite the neighborhood and the location I have to admit that the staff and parents are caring and involved. My son never had a problem in this school or with any of the students like he does at his present school, the teachers are vigilent. Unfortunately the playground is not well kept and we often see broken beer bottles, I have even found used rubbers under the slide, yuck! To tell the truth I've seen that in the nicer neighborhoods as well."
