"Shotwell is just like any other middle school. The schools role is to teach the children so they can succeed academically. It is our (the parents) role to teach our kids discipline. You can put a well behaved student in any school and they will succeed. The school does not make the student. If your child is not disciplined it doesn't matter if they go to Shotwell or to one of the most expensive private schools. The outcome will be the same. Lets not blame the teachers and principals, lets take a look at how we are raising our children. If you teach your child to be a leader they will be a leader anywhere they go."

"Shotwell is the typical middle school. 7th and 8th graders think they know everything. But I do believe its the environment surrounding these children that makes them the way they are. I substituted here and the students were so disrepectful saying 'I dont care' and never doing anywork. It saddens me to see this, and although I wouldn't want to come back. I feel I need to help them."

"This is one of the best schools EVER! There are fights, but there are fights in every school. All i want to say is that, no matter what, we allll learn in that school.."

"This school has been a big disappointment. It has not changed. All of my 4 children have attended Shotwell. It is probably due to the example the school staff sets. Luckily my kids have all been in the accelerated programs and have done extremely well academically."
