"This is a wonderful school. The teachers love and care for the students as if they were theirs. I should no I went to the school 2004-2005"

"Shotwell has a lot of problems with discipline and academic progress . It is one of the lowest performers in the district , in some areas below 50 %. One reason is the poor discipline and the lack of backup for teachers by the (assistant) principal(s). If your child is a good learner take care that she/he keeps out of the many troubles and disturbances used to take place in classes. You have to make sure that your child behaves by its own decisions, which is not easy in a very troubled environment. But it is possible and there are some great talented kids who still do a very good job despite the the difficult environment. Make sure your kid bonds with these and not with the many of disrestpectful students on this campus. Shotwell will become a magnet school, that may help since it can refuse the worst troublemakers."
