"I have never had an issue with any of the staff. My child has been a problem child at school and the administration has always gone above and beyond to work with my child and my family. The only thing I do not like is all of the extra activities at the school. Being a busy parent like I am sure we all are, it is difficult for me to make it to all the school functions, and it always disappoints my child. I hate to miss anything because I always want the teachers to know that I care. I wish that they had 2 open houses and only 2 extra parent/family nights. Its never that I do not want to go, its just that sometimes I can not go. This is a good school, however it is in a bad area, and I hope that they start enforcing no bullying rules."

"My concern is in the playground, I guess the kids need more supervision. For few rotten apples they can't have fun. The rest is completely satisfactory. Thank you at all Teachers and staff."

"It find it interesting to read the reviews written by parents who complain about everything from uniforms, to extra curricular activities, to the teachers who spend countless hours trying to help their students be successful. Perhaps they should try coming up to the school and volunteering for awhile. Maybe they should investigate why things are the way they are by keeping informed through the district web site or school board meetings. We work with limited funds, limited parental support and apathetic kids. Considering all of these hurdles I think Sheridan does a heck of a job educating your children. I could go on and on, but why bother. You can't pleasee everyone and there will always be someone out there that has something to complain about. You try doing what we do and working with what we have to work with and see if your feelings are the same."

"I have to agree with the other submitter. The teachers do not go out of their way. They do only what is needed and that is it. I would have never moved here had I of known. Majority of the children speak spanish and there is no safeguards on the playground. When an incident happens, no one witnesses it. The Cutting in the pick up line and drop off is ridiculous as well as no crossing guards and parents dropping their kids in the middle of Keith harrow as well as picking them up in the middle of the street. Even the School buses Drive through the school zones at 35-40MPH. It is very dangerous there as well as lacking in the teaching department. The School prefers not to have Parent volunteers muchless parents in the school. You are made to feel very unwelcomed."

"I am satisfied with Sheridan as far as huge schools go, but I worry about supervision because of a few things that my child has told me about on the playground. Rumor has it that our neighborhood will be rezoned into a new school in 2008 which might lessen the load on the staff at Sheridan. I was suprised at the workload and homework that Kindergarden children have at Sheridan. It takes a commitment from the parent to get the homework done, but my kindergardener is reading. The Kindergarden kids don't get many breaks or recesses either, but it will teach them that school is about work from day one."
