"Don't send your kids here. This school needs so much that there's just not even much worth fixing anymore. The teachers are great but everything else just makes me want to move my kids faster. No P.E but 1 time every 2 weeks, no recess, no lunchroom, parent pickup is chaos, no free buses, no security. Very disappointed..."

"While the teachers are wonderful, the principal is far from and the school is even less than that. The school is being rebuilt but it's been "under construction" for years. There is no recess or Fine Arts programs at all, so your kids are bored. The food is gross and undercooked so you have to plan bringing lunches, no free bus for under 2 miles or so or you have to pay for it 11-15 dollars a kid and the buses are dangerous, they spend the entire time practicing for tests and taking tests that they end up failing. K.Smith hasn't passed AYP in 2 years. Most of the problems can be fixed but noone seems to care to do so. Parent involvement just isn't there. The PTO usually does nothing except for finally this year. The teachers are burnt out, the kids are burnt out, the school isn't safe and there's just nothing that you can read here that should make you want to send your kids to this school. If you have a choice, avoid it..."

"My oldest son's teacher recommended transferring our son out of the school. They have to many kids enrolled in the school. The principal strives to teach all of the kids how to just 'survive'. Both of our kids' teachers were great and maximized the situation that they were handed. Unfortunatly the pricipal gave them a short hand. If you are able, transfer your kids out of this school. You will be greatful that they were not taught how to just 'survive'."
