"St. Thomas is fantastic about preparing high school students for the challenges of college while allowing them to explore their interests through a wide range of elective courses and extracurricular activities. My involvement with the Drama program completely changed my life and helped shape my future career aspirations."

"Though I'm sure the staff has changed significantly since I graduated, if it's anything like it was then, most of the teachers work hard to make their subjects engaging for their students. The best teachers encourage participation and foster a desire for knowledge beyond the basic curriculum."

"St. Thomas was the best high school experience that I could have had. The four years were the fullest and most challenging years of my life so far. Of course, high school can be a difficult time for everyone, but St. Thomas takes that struggle and makes it mean something. If you're willing to reach out and try, the opportunities are all there. Throughout my years at St. Thomas, I took almost exclusively advanced/AP classes, and this was overall a good experience. I would definitely recommend that, because it puts you among dedicated teachers and classmates. Classes at St. Thomas are generally pretty challenging, and there was always a very substantial homework load to take care of every night. That certainly created stress, but it was stress that made us all grow as students and as men. Classroom discussion in classes like English, Philosophy, or Spanish was often very engaging. Many teachers and students are actively curious about the subjects that interest them, and encourage each other to keep learning. I was involved with St. Thomas Theatre and St. Thomas Choir throughout my time there, and I loved every minute in it. My favorite experiences and my best friendships at St. Thomas stem from those extracurricular activities. The performing arts programs at St. Thomas are actually really strong, but, as it is in Texas, the hype over the football team and athletics can sometimes drown out news on other great things happening at the school. I learned to sing through STH Choir, and that's something I'll always have with me. My favorite experience at St. Thomas was playing Tony in a monumentally successful production of West Side Story in the spring of my senior year. There is a constant emphasis on building character, building faith, becoming men of "Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge" in everything that we do. This is a school that can teach you to be leader and a man."

"St Thomas provides provides a great, challenging education to all young men. The school is welcoming to all ethnic backgrounds and faiths. The school is centrally located and on the Metro line, lots of students use Metro service daily. St Thomas promotes their spiritual, artistic and physical growth of their students. The school has a strong core curriculum and electives. The student will be prepared for independent learning and time management that college requires. St Thomas also offers AP classes. St Thomas is not a cookie cutter education. Young men are all different, the leadership knows this. STH is not obsessed with incessant standardized testing and practicing standardized tests during class time. Students are encouraged to question, to analyze and to develop rapport with their teachers and classmates. Some young men are concerned they won't meet girls, but fear not ! Young ladies attend events at the school and vice versa."
