"They had a great guidance couselor when my child was there in 2008 . She worked are hard to help students achieve their college dreams. There were some teachers that really cared but there were some that did not care."

"This school needs a whole new staff if it wants to keep a good system running. Its not organized and its smells like an abandoned place in all buildings."

"I graduated from RSS and I must say I had the best years of my life at that school. I bled columbia blue and navy. ;-) Not only did I get a scholarship to the University of Texas but I also received other scholarship offers thanks to my guidance counselor. School is what your child makes it. Yeah, Sterling may not look like a brand new school but I had more memorable moments and life changing teachers there that definitely overshadowed what the school look like. I highly suggest getting your child involved in programs at Sterling. The Sterling Players (theatre) who have made several State UIL appearances, and the Aviation magnet program which help students obtain a Pilot License are one of the best in Texas. Sterling's Wall of Sound Marching Band also has a stellar reputation throughout Texas that has been known to provide scholarships to college hopefulls."

"Sterling is a work in progress. They need to get caring teachers who want their students to succeed rather than get teachers who make 'paycheck' priority #1."
