"DO NO WORK AT THIS SCHOOL NOR SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL! Varnett treats their employees horrible. They hire great teachers, but can not keep them. Varnett steals money from their employees and always holds the threat of being fired over their heads. This coming school year all 3 campuses experience a huge turn overate. Seven teachers quit at the SW campus and only 9 teachers returned to the North East campus. In regards to the curriculum, they chose programs that are not even aligned with the TEKS. There are no ancillaries for the students. Primary grades do not even have a computer in the classroom. Administration is a joke. There is not a discipline plan and students run wild and free. When teachers look to their directors for help they turn the other cheek. 3 teachers from STAAR tested grades quit in the middle of the year. These teachers were NOT replaced nor was a sub brought in. By the end of the year the director (who is certified in special ed) was teaching a 3rd grade class. Again STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. The whole Cluff family are thieves and are stealing in the name of EDUCATION! -FORMER EMPLOYEE"

"My child is in Pre-K 4 at Varnett. Communication levels are poor . This is the worst school every when it comes to skills. I have never experience such a low class of employees in my life. The classrooms are overcrowded with little organization. The teachers are overwhelmed.....My kid will not be attending Varnett next year....."

"My son has gone to Varnett for 2 1/2 years and most of the time has been a horrible experience. He has been left at school because the teacher did not have him in the right area, there are too many children in a class room and the teachers are unskilled and have no manners. My son cried and did not want to go to school because his teacher YELLED at him daily and I witnessed this on the school monitor with the principal. Her response was she would look in to the situation, things got better and then right back to before. I was told he could not change teachers and told the principal after the semester my son would be withdrawn, she took it upon her self to withdraw him and the last day of school for the semester he was not allowed to go. This school is HORRIBLE and I would not recommend it."

"My child's teacher sent homework home and spelled President Obama's name "OBAHMAH".... need I say more! If you can't spell or know how to form a sentence correctly, then you definitely should not be teaching children ANYTHING!"

"2. I bring your attention to "point" number five in the review. PLEASE tell me that this "teacher" knows the difference between "their" and "they're." And more importantly, someone please tell me that he/she is teaching a subject OTHER than grammar! Well, if nothing else, I think I've accidentally stumbled upon one of the potential problems with charter schools. Not all of them, mind you; just the bad ones, which unfortunately appear to be the majority of them. (Cont'd)"
