"Please get your facts straight before spreading ridiculous and harmful rumors. I know the parent involved in the "belting" incident (I also have a child in the preschool at WCA), and she was fully aware and in full cooperation with the situation. It was a safety issue."

"First of all, it's a violation of this website's rules of "Great Schools" to post the name of ANYONE. The fact that you did, in glowing terms under the current circumstances, tells me this is a bogus review written by, or at the direction of, the person you named. If you really are a parent who "loved" and respected the person you named, then you obviously didn't know her or have a clue what was going on at that school. Your central point is right though--the board is TERRIBLE, and the evidence of that is that they didn't get rid of the head of school EARLIER. They ignored complaints, obvious red flags like the head of school hiring her autistic son to play Pokemon with 7 year old boys, and and ignored the large number of people leaving and NO EXIT INTERVIEWS being done. The previous poster goes on to repeat "no scandal was involved," but that really depends on your definition of scandal. Despite their best efforts, word is leaking out about a child being belted to a chair. At that point even this incompetent board had no choice but to get rid of her--can you say, lawsuit? Please pray for this school--it needs it."

"When we toured WCA for the first time a few years ago, we were very impressed with the facility, class sizes, & programs available to the students. The principal, Dana Curlee, was obviously extremely knowledgeable & passionate about Christian education. The students & teachers seemed genuinely happy to be there. We enrolled our kids soon after & have been extremely pleased up to this point. Our kids have loved their teachers & have received an excellent education with a strong Christian foundation. It saddens me to say that this will probably be our last year. We've heard rumblings here & there about problems with the school board, but hadn't seen any solid evidence until this year (although the number of principals the school has had in its years of existence did make us wonder). The recent abrupt change in administration with no cause given (except the assurance that no scandal was involved, which we believe--we love & respect Mrs. Curlee) does not bode well for the stability of the school. When we asked questions about this sudden change, we were told (quite condescendingly) to "just trust" the board. The mean-spirited "FAQ" letter released by the board was the last straw."

"I ve two kids in WCA; they both have been going there since they were 4 years old. My son is in 4th and daughter in 1st grade now. We re very happy with the teachers, curriculum, and leadership at WCA. I feel very comfortable when they re at school as if they re surrounded with family; it really is like a big family!"

"Kindergarten good (depends on teacher), but go elsewhere for elementary. Low teacher-student ratios, but not taking advantage of it. Heavily worksheet driven. Emphasis is on keeping the kids quiet. Little teacher support or supervision and curriculum is a mess. The kids don't even have a math book--they're getting re-copied worksheets (often illegible) from a curriculum WCA hasn't used for years, which is probably a copyright violation."
