"I couldn't disagree with the original poster MORE (but some time has certainly passed since that post, and things may have changed). I am the parent of a child with social/emotional/educational challenges and I couldn't be more THRILLED with the care and attention she has received at Central Tree. She is thriving in the care and attention she receives from all realms of staff, and was (for the first time) an honor roll student at the end of her 6th grade term. The school has been incredibly helpful with communicating both areas of weakness and strength, and we are off to a great start for her 7th grade year. She is always happy to go to school, and I am happy to know that she is in such great hands. More field trips and experiences would certainly be nice, but I can only suppose the reasons are budgetary, and a sign of the times. As for parent/home communication.. parents are as informed as they choose to be. From my experience, getting updates or questions answered is as easy as sending a note or e-mail, and powerschool is about as close as you can get to peeking into the gradebook all the way through the term. No complaints here.. Keep up the good work Central Tree!"

"We moved here a few months ago (from another state) and as a parent, I can not be more pleased with the school. My kids are in 7th and 8th grade and they have adjusted very quickly. All of the teachers seem to really love teaching. The school offers many after school sports and clubs for the kids to participate in. I m glad we moved to Rutland."

"Dear June 13, 2008- Power school is meant to keep parents informed of their child's work and progress. When you saw that work was incomplete then that's when you should have 'fixed' things. It sounds like you want to blame your son's teachers when it is your son who is to blame. By middle school a student should be able to remember to hand in the work when it is due. You're lucky your son got any credit at all if he forgot to hand it in on time. They have over 120 students and put the grades on power school for you to see."

"The people are very nice. I wish they would contact the parents when the child isnt handing in work and their grades are dropping. I watch my child do his homework every night but when i check power school all his homework say inc. When questioned all i get is 'sorry mom,i forgot to hand it in' by then it to late. If i had been contacted we could have fixed it."

"My son was a student at Central Tree for four years. He loved going to school everyday and always had something new and interesting to tell me he had learned in class. However, the school doesn't do anything special or fun. In eigth grade, my son went on a total of two field trips, both to Boston. I think the principal could put forth a little more effort to make Central Tree a fun place for all."
