"The school overall is good. We moved to Syosset for the schools, but the PTA moms are terrible. They come with a lot of attitude and that in turn reflects on their kids - especially the girls. I have always been a proponent for parents' involvement in their kids' school, but this PTA is really pushing it. It's very exclusive, the VPs are very partial to their friends and the principal plays along. There should be a line drawn by the school and other parents should get a chance to speak their minds. It's as if the moms are back in high school. The teachers are good otherwise. My daughter is a current student and loves the school. It's the moms like us that feel otherwise."

"My daughter is in the first grade here, really love the academic program and most of the teachers, but the parents are unbelievable! Very cliquey and uncooperative, the PTA is like a social hangout for moms,it has not changed much in years, and they don't welcome newcomers and ignore any feedback from parents of new students. Also, seems like the teachers and principal are almost scared of these PTA moms and their kids do get extra attention."

"I am a parent, my daughter attended Robbins Lane and my son is currently attending kindergarten. Cant say enough great things about this school, the teachers are very attentive, the PTA is very active and kids are exposed to music, foreign language, computers, math and science right from kindergarten. My daughter was fortunate to have attended this school and was accepted in the honors program for gifted students known as "project beyond". Project Beyond is like a mini MBA for elementary school kids, that prepares you for higher education. She contines to excel in middle school because of the opportunities given to her at Robbins lane. Its a great school that prepares you for middle school and the academics are par none."

"I have two children in School here, girl (older) and boy. Girl doing fine despite a couple of real bad teachers (I met them) and who boy had trouble adjusting in first two weeks of kindergarten. Principal shows zero tolerance. Boy actually suspended for a week for throwing a crayon at little girl. Big deal made by prima dona parent. Principal thinks zro tolerance works in little kid who has no idea what she did. Principal very lazy - - hates any kid who misbehaves. BAD SCHOOL overall."

"My two children attended Robbins Lane. Overall, we have had a positive experience. Mostly excellent teaching staff...some extremely effective and nurturing teachers. Only one bad experience and that teacher is no longer at the school. A great deal of parent involvement and a strong PTA. On the down side, I have not been pleased with the principal and have heard many other complaints by other parents. However, I have heard that she is no longer on staff and has been replaced by an interim principal. There has been no information about what direction this is heading so more information is needed. Another heads up about the school is that some of the students, like their parents, can be snobby and cliquey. There are lots of warm and wonderful families as well...just need to choose your associations wisely."
