"My son attends 1st grade at Richland and I can't say enough good things about the teachers he has had and the principal for sure!! Great school. From speaking to other parents I would say it is the best school in the area. Brand new state of the art high school too. If your looking here because you are moving to Johnstown, Richland is the place to be. Property taxes are 1/3 or less that of westmont."

"My child attends Richland Elementary. The scores compared to other local schools are really good. We could improve: The selection of reading material is mediocre. The passages are poorly written. Maybe a more selective process of buying books would improve success? Push the publishers/salespeople!-if better materials were used (if available), then the performance might improve. The checks for learning in the material do not develop comprehension skills. Questions and directions are poorly written in most material. Once again, question the salesperson from the publishing company. Richland could challenge the students more in math. My kindergartner in a private program is doing the same activities as the 2nd grader in Richland. When will they ever build upon what these kids already know? What ever happened to helping to develop those kids who have characteristics of being gifted? -2nd grader's mom"

"I was a former student at Richland Elemenatary. They do not push you to your limits."
