"I find it funny how everyone on here giving Oaklea one star are parents and not students, I can honestly say Oaklea is the best school I've attended it's a great friendly enviornment with great staff and it is just the right size, Oaklea was an awesome school to attend."

"Oaklea is one of the worst schools I have ever had the misfortune to send my kids to. If I had the ability to send them somewhere else I would have. The bullying is rampant and the children who are the victims get punished with no punishment for the miscreants who are bullies. The Administration and the staff seem to be unable to think for themselves and unwilling/unable to find alternate ways to deal with problems. I have one of my three kids returning this year and I wouldn't be sending him back if I had other options available. In short, the school sucks. They care more about punishing children that don't fit their cookie cutter image of what a child should be, than working with parents to come up with solutions to the problems that the student has. This is a fundamental failure on the part of the Administration and Staff."

"This school is one of the worst schools to send your child for alot of reasons when i attended there when i was a child with the bullying and fights and disputes the te teachers and staff would always let the trouble maker and or bully get away it was always the kid who defends him or her self who got punished this is un justified and yn lawful what they let kids get away with in their school all i know is if you want your child to succeed in life and become what ever they want to be when they grow up steer clear away from this school and disctrict the high school is even worse with the problems and then some"

"My child attends Oaklea Middle School. It is just another school that prints off packets from the internet and hands them out. No individual education, no one-on-one interaction, no help for students needing special help. Very disappointing school."

"All three of my children have attended OMS, and I did when the school was first opened. First, I think Oaklea has some of the best qualified teachers around...Enthusiastic and knowledgeable...The down side, is the teacher core that has been around too long...Those teachers should have been let go or retired, but were waiting it out...I recall my oldest child coming home with "F"s on Progress reports, only to come out of the class with A's, because the tired teacher (that taught my younger sisters years ago) would leave all the homework that needed to be graded in a box under her desk, until she absolutely HAD to grade it. The elective program is no longer a program...No art, no shop, no home ec...Those were prominent back in the 80's...Now electives are band/choir and teachers assistant (which is unpaid work for the student). This WAS a "State of the Art" school, initially...But, somehow, those programs were eliminated due to funding, or lack there of, or failure to manage the funds set for the school. Frankly, with the quality of teachers Oaklea has, I would hope the vision of the administrators would be to bring back the wood shop/foundry, art department, and home ec.."
