"So far Murray Middle has been great. Years ago I was put off by it's location, but that doesn't effect the quality of the school. There are lots of different avenues to have your children involved and excited about school. Children entering middle school are at the point of being independent academically, so the work the child and parents put in over the years is showing off. The teaches are excellent. I think administration strains to try and place everyone appropriately. The facility is clean, although, my daughter will only use one specific bathroom, she is put off by etched in words in other bathrooms she went to. Overall, I think administration is very much on top of any behavior issues; the teachers are great. Hey, every student isn't going to click with every teacher's personality. Administration is responsive. They have incentive trips, etc. Your child has to make their own friends, grades, etc. There is ample opportunity for extracurricula activies, and fun things, like dances. Your child is paramount is sculpting out his/her own experiences. If your child is involved and sets high goals for his/her grades, they will have an awesome experience here."

"I would have to disagree with the post about the administration dealing with special education students. I have had a wonderful experience with the administration. Sometimes you get more with honey than vinegar."

"This has to be the best experience I've had in all of my years, honestly it was better than my high school years! It's not in the best neighborhood, and people tend to think it's a 'ghetto school' but it's really a great school! I was very involved with band and had such a great time! I never had a bad teacher there, and I learned so much in just 3 years! The only complaint I have is that the dress code was a bit over the top, but otherwise it's a great school and I HIGHLY suggest it to any parent!"

"This is a bad school. The last two principles have had poor leaderships skills, the school is built in the middle of a ghetto, the school is not being kept clean, and many of the teachers do not do their jobs properly. There is no justice - the dean simply blames the people who come forward so they don't have to spend any time investigating. As a result, the innocent are punished as often as the guilty, and minor infractions are punished more heavily than repeated ones. Fights occur continually and the most commonly used word, second only to 'like', is too profane for me to repeat it to you. There are good teachers, like Mrs. Valella, who make their subjects interesting and entertaining. As a former student, I discourage elementary school students from coming here."
