"What I like about Dixie is that we have a good English Department, and excellent teachers who are their to support you every step of the way. What I would like to see change is the selection of food at lunch, because it doesn't taste good, and that we shouldn't have tardies in the morning, as in it shouldn't count, however, if it were to count, it should count right after announcements end. . If students arrive late to class, then that's their fault for not getting the education because they choose to be late. Most students arrive during announcements, and no one has started to teach yet. I find it pointless to count tardies in the morning"

"I am a former student. With my past experience at Dixie, I can assure that it is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I understand many parents become afraid when seeing the graduation rate and things as such. In reality, progress has been made, even safety wise. Last year, a new principle came along and he engages with students and has set a goal for the students and the school itself. Teachers are good, and there is such diversity! Dixie has a reputation and is even called "Dirty Dixie" at times. A lot of this comes to the response that there is a daycare center in the back of the school for students with kids. This doesn't mean that they are encouraging more students to have babies, I see it in a way that provides supports for students that can not find childcare and they can still attend school. All in all, aside from test scores, and student grades, it is not as bad as people make it out to be."

"A very open and diverse school with many classes and clubs to join in and learn something new. I will always remember my time at Dixie."

"There were many many amazing teachers and administrators. Of course, high school isn't enjoyable, but Dixie didn't really help much. For example, the tardy policy is flawed. After each tardy you get, you receive a 1 hour after school detention which ultimately just encourages kids to skip. Another this was the way they went about having "lunch zones", which kept everyone in one space, which again, the students broke and they had to modify it."

"Dixie is full of many programs and classes that help to guide students in the path that they find a passion in. It helps the student make good choices to have a clear direction in life. Dixie also has a very helpful and passionate staff that is very admirable for their willingness to help students succeed."
