"I am now a senior at Tivy High School and overall it really is an average school. The teachers try to make students succeed, but unfortunately, there is favoritism. Our football team is one of the best in state at the moment and that is what the town of Kerrville really cares about. Kerrville is a small town with nothing to really do but get in trouble. Tivy is not the best school academically, but we definitely overpower our closest school Ingram."

"Although an excellent looking campus. The lack of funding at the local and state level is sub-par.Texas is continually reducing the schools budget, excluding Football.. the town offers nothing for teens, except bowling and movies. The administration is a farce with rules so difficult to follow the overall impression is one of prison... Favoritism reeks this is a school and a town of who you know and not of what you do! The education if you can get around the standardized setting.. is to teach the TAKS and be damned with an actual education.. teachers budgets are so low that they have to accept charity and grants to even get basic computers into classes. and if you are not into sports or theater.. forget advancing, no real science, no real engineering, and real education.. Unless you are a far right conservative stay away from Kerrville"

"Tivy High School is a school that has several excellent organizations including the fine arts (band and choir) and athletics. The academics are average, mainly due to over emphasis on standardized testing. The administrative team is going through constant evolvment and seems to want to put kids first, but unfortunately puts the teacher's needs very low. I would say from many years of expereience with students attending Tivy High School, the school is still a good place to be but remember that active parent involvement is going to be needed to truly have great success."

"I graduated last year and while I think there are things people shouldn't approve of (drop out rate) I don't think it's the school's fault. I went to another High School in San Antonio, Texas and both of the school's were quit different. Sometimes it takes being in a really bad school to know a good one when you get it. Mostly what makes a school is the student body in it, if you ask me. The teachers were nice and I never really noticed favoritism. I hung out with the wrong crowd but any trouble that I got myself into was done by my choosing. Kerrville is a small close minded town with conservative parents for the most part. You should figure that the kids are going to rebel and try to be as liberal and sometimes unagreeable as possible."

"I went to Tivy all 4 years of High School and graudated in 2007. Although the teachers are on a huge power trip and the rules are ridiculous...I got my education and that's what matters. Although, there are plenty of other activities in the school other than football. Just saying."
