"With a 99% matriculation rate to college, you people with whiny posts obviously have sons that could not handle it. My son is taking biology and math courses that dwarf excellent high school courses. If your son(s) cant handle valley forge then admit it and stop degrading the school. You all all have axes to grind and your kids cant handle it. This is a prep school. It is not a place to put your delinquent offspring, though many well off parents try because they are complete failures at parenting. This Military School is not the place to put your bad seed kid into. He will never make it...as is the obvious case with your posts. You "so called" teachers are jokes because you probably got fired. I know the curriculum and no way normal High School kids cut it. I'm sure there are bad kids there and their parents pay dearly for them to go there. You can't blame the school on your complete failure as parents. I have a "hunch" mu kiddo makes minced meat out of his high school brethren in any academic arena. VFMAC is worth every penny. Proud parent Time to grow up. You graduate from VFMAC wwith good grades you pretty much your ticket...period."

"I am currently a cadet at VFMAC. I came to VF with a prior drug problem and knew I needed discipline. When I came to VF it met my expectations. Within a year I can honestly say that I am the disciplined young man that I have always wanted to be. The Faculty and staff will support you no matter what. My sophemore year at public school I scored a 1430 on the SAT's. After a year at VF I surpassed my goals by scoring a 1950. VF has geared me for success and now in my senior year I can honestly say I have a bright future in front of me. My whole life I have grown up in a neighborhood where the majority of people barely graduate highschool. My parents had to take out a morgage on their house in order to put me through VF and it was worth it. Every day I thank the faculty and staff for all they have done for me and I am proud to say I am a cadet at the Most prestigious military school in the country!"

"VFMAC is what you make out of it. Like what was stated in several other reviews, you must be motivated and self-disciplined to succeed in this school. However, the reason for many people who come to VFMAC is to attain those qualities. For those who aren't motivated and self-disciplined, you will NOT gain those qualities by coming here because they won't help you if you begin failing. They simply punish you more and let you fall deeper into the pit of desolation until your future is ruined by drugs, social pressure, and bad grades. I've seen it happen here. If you are motivated to do well, then by all means, join VFMAC; but there are other schools that can develop your traits better. Also, many of the military responsibilities are given to people who can't be responsible for themselves (often their grades are worse than the people they lead) so they just lead you to be worse."

"We enrolled our son for his junior year at Valley Forge Military Academy and were completely disappointed. When we spoke with the admissions office we were assured that if our son had any academic problems the school would provide the needed support. That never happened. We had to arrange on our own for one of the other students to help tutor our son and paid this student ourselves. There is also a complete lack of leadership from the school. They have had several changes at the top and I see again that they have an "acting" president of the school. The physical plant is very run down and the school has a very small endowment. I believe this is due to the lack of alumni support. Yes, some students do well and go onto to the 4 service academies. However, I spoke with many students when I visited my son and very few provided positive feedback. If I had to make the decision again I would not send my son to Valley Forge. There are other options which you should look at. This is not one to recommend."

"In the past, Valley Forge was a great school with and had many cadets with character. Currently, however, the school lacks attention to facilities, faculty, and quality of education as well as many crucial aspects that make up a great school. The chain of command at the school often interrupt academic studies with trivial room inspections. Sleep deprivation is a huge problem here as the chain of command and tactical officers are very lenient on loud music and roommate inconsideration. Many times when my parents email the school, they are left with no reply. The heaters in some barracks (dorms) don't work and the bathrooms are all terrible. On the academic side; however, Valley Forge has several understanding teachers who do their job really well. The curriculum isn't challenging and is often obstructed by teachers coming and going but their are several reliable teachers. From my experience here, I do not recommend attending the school unless you really need to raise your grade by having an easier curriculum and you don't mind many of the annoying military traditions."
