"Our child started school here her senior year, which is a challenge. However, she was welcomed with open arms from the school administration and teachers. There are several clubs to choose from that fit a broad spectrum of personalities and interests. The overall theme of the school is acceptance and inclusion."

"It's pretty good since it's a challenging environment but it brings a lot of stress as well."

"I personally had a very bad experience at this school because of certain people I met here. The one major thing I learned over the years is that you really really need to choose your friends wisely because they will without a doubt, be a big part of your high school career. But if we're strictly talking about academics, I did have an enjoyable time and South high does offers stellar education. However, teachers that teach honors and AP courses tend to be the better bunch compared to the whole which is a downside since many students that are enrolled in regular courses won't be able to receive as wonderful teaching as the students in these more challenging courses will. School spirit seems to be pretty low unless you're part of the faculty or you're involved in sports, and there's a good amount of diversity to fit everyone's liking."

"Most of the relationships from South middle will continue on in South high and since everyone has know each other for a long while now, nothing much will change. Everyone just hangs out with the people they've always hung out with and that's just the way it is. There may be peer pressure going on behind the walls and with sexual orientation, that's more of a personal matter, but everyone here is generally very accepting. There is a pretty large ethnic diversity so you will meet a little bit of everyone here."

"Great Neck South has a lot of clubs and activities that help students succeed in their intended college majors. I was involved in Great Neck Public Schools Television with Mr. Zahn and Mr. Gluck (retired, 2010-2011), was just amazing."
