"The school appears reluctant to exercise serious control over rampaging student behavior. I even, on one occassion, saw the Principal smiling at the antics of one student, while trying to correct misbehavior. Security tends to be avoidant. One officer said, ' It doesn't matter WHAT they do in there. Just don't let them out into the hall!' Student do not show concern for grades or threats of disciplinary action."

"I like what the team of teachers are doing to improve the school. They made AYP in 2004, I expect them to make it again."

"My son just started at Shaw Middle School. I know the principal will work with him. He was a good teacher and and vice principal was transfered to Shaw and expect him to be a good principal."
