"The school is a block away from the beach which makes the atmosphere and the environment peaceful."

"What I like about this school is that it's small considered to other high schools, but I like it because it's not all clumped up. What I don't like about that there are cliques and the students just separate themselves from each other if it seems that they won't get along. It makes it unique because it's near the beach and it's intellectual rates that they have. I don't know if I would like to go back to La Jolla High School if I had an option to redo it all over. I like experimenting, so there would be a higher chance that I wouldn't choose it. La Jolla High is plain in a high way."

"It seems to me that most teachers at my school don't really care about our future. They teach very well, I'm proud of them doing there job, but that's all they're doing. Some just say and they let their students do the rest of the job. It's best when the teacher and their students communicate in class or outside class, so that there is a trust bond. If there isn't a trust bond, the student struggles more in school because there isn't communication being held. It would be nice if teachers worked harder for their students because after all their futures is in their hands."

"La Jolla High is a good school if you're athletic and don't mind the lazy/unorganized teachers and social judgement/cliques. The lack of creativity within some of the students and teachers is also irritating because it is hard to see artistic expressions throughout the students. There is no "spotlight" for the VAPA department in the students, faculty, or website, so if you are a performing/artistic student or parent, I suggest not attending this school."

"La Jolla High pools in students from wealthier families, thus creating a smart and educated student who has expectations of success. Teachers press for high test scores on the AP's and they see results. The local area is very safe. Students are generally clique and those who stand out, will stand out. The typical student is white, upper middle class and generally has solid grades. Administration can be rude and very unhelpful, but most of the older ladies have now retired and I enjoy the new staff very much. Counselors are very helpful. Teachers are a hit and miss at times. Higher level classes such as AP's have some of the best teachers, but those classes that are just needed for graduation do not provide the best. New principal is awful. However, La Jolla High students do graduate and attend prestigious colleges all across the country."
