"Overall, I enjoyed my experience at the school and made many friends. I was able to join many clubs and sports which really made me enjoy the school even more. The coaches I had really mentored me and shaped me into a better person."

"I love learning, and the teachers at Lake Shore help make it better. I'm not going to lie, there are mornings that I wish I could just sleep for a little longer, but in the end when I get into class I'm glad that I get to learn. I owe my love for learning to the teachers, while there are a few that I didn't like while in their class there are more that I wish I could take their classes all over again. Each teacher has such a different style of teaching, and way that they communicate/take care of their students. Some are more relatable than others, but they all manage to teach each lesson they need. Some teachers take more interest in students than others, but in the end they all strive to help every student that walks through their classroom doors in September. While I'm not the type of student that gets close to the teachers, I know I won't forget any of them because as they teach about literary elements, photosynthesis, historical wars, hydrocarbons, accounting, and everything in between I'm really learning. Some teachers, like the Academy of Business and Finance teachers, teach lessons about how we'll have to present ourselves in the real world and other lessons essential to success and being prepared for our lives post high school. Every lesson I learn from every teacher I had and will have in high school will definitely make a difference in my life because of the teachers."

"The thing about Lake Shore is that it gets mixed reviews, but I love it. The friends that I made here are really great, and I really do enjoy learning. I would always choose Lake Shore if I had to do it over again and have a say in the high school I attended. I feel safe at Lake Shore, and I really am learning a lot. There is an Academy of Business and Finance at Lake Shore and while we may not seem like a family from the outside looking in (or from the inside) we are because we fight siblings, but we also look out for each other in our own way. The Academy of Business and Finance, in my opinion, is one thing that makes Lake Shore unique. AOBF may only be for a certain amount of students who went through an interview process to get in, but it's the diversity of the students in the Academy with me that makes it special. I made friends with people through the Academy that I'd never even thought I'd talk to, and the people that I already considered friends when we joined AOBF only strengthened our friendship. Although while during certain frustrating classes that are part of the Academy of Business and Finance I thought to myself "wow I don't know I can or want to do this anymore" but I get past that point every time and realize how much it will benefit me in the future. I love Lake Shore, and the friends that I made here because I consider them family along with the rest of my class whether I talk to them or not."

"I know that most kids don't like school, but Lake Shore is completely backwards. There are so many flaws in the school system here and most of the time, nobody does anything to fix them. For example, not too long ago, a local casino came to the high school to talk about future careers in the "gaming industry". Many tables were set up to show that there's more to casino's than gambling. The funny part was, 3-4 of the tables were there to talk about slots, poker, and blackjack. The speaker talked about how to become a dealer and that even people who drop out of high school can get good jobs dealing cards. It says directly in the code of conduct "No gambling". Why was the school promoting it then?"
