"West Oak has the best band/choir program there is. The children are challenged and they are encouraged to thrive. The principal is very involved and the teachers have an excellent relationship with the parents."

"My son has thrived at West Oak. When we 1st moved to the area 20 years ago, we had no children. Before my son started school we shopped for schools in the area. We interviewed all the principals and toured the schools from Buffalo Grove to Libertyville. When we found out Dist 76 had a Dual Language program, we stopped our search and waited for him to be tested. We were thrilled when he got in and we were happy when his sister got in as well 3 years later. While there have been some ups and downs my children thrived in all 3 schools. My children both benefitted from speech therapy, remedial reading, and enrichment programs. While I did my stint in being secretary with the PTO and various school referendum and other committees, there were a lot of school activities for my children to be involved in as well. I can t thank the teachers enough for all they ve done for my children. They totally go above and beyond!"

"My oldest is currently going into 7th grade at WO and she is having a WOnderful experience there. Tons of opportunities for extracurricular activities and a great academic challenge. She has yet to have a teacher she dislikes. I look forward to my younger children attending this winner!"

"My son just finished his first year at West Oak. What an incredible education, great teachers, and staff who truly wants the best for their students!!! At District 76, our students still get music, art, physical education. Additionally, did you know that at grade 5 all students are available to be in a school band. District 76 still has extracurricular activites and they are so supportive of the programs. District 76 not only has spirit but they have great students who perform well. District 76 feeds into two high schools with one being Adlai E Stevenson and the other is Mundelein. According to feedback I have heard from school, is that our students are above average when going into high school for education. We have small class sizes and lots of support from teachers and staff. We moved a few years ago and made sure we stayed in District 76!"

"West Oak Middle schools is a very good school in a culturally diverse neighborhood. The teachers and administrators are dedicated to providing a comprehensive education while keeping its doors open for many after school community activities. The principals and teachers are responsive and accessible to parents and extremelly dedicated to delivering a strong educational experience to each student.. The band program is outstanding and clearly connected to the community. This is truly an outstanding public school."
