"This school is definitely a step above the local public school. The WPSD could use a major overhaul. However, St Philomena's School also needs some work in major areas. I believe the teachers need professional development. Many are not aware of how to be effective without yelling, screaming, bullying, or sarcasm. If you decide this school is for you, investigate everything. Question a lot."

"St Philomena is a fair alternative to the local public schools esp. middle school. Less than friendly to newcommers and even clique-ish. Solid enough studies with religious studies, spelling, and handwriting not given in the public schools. No special ed. There are sports, annual science fair and music recital. Also afterschool Spanish at extra cost. I give it 4 1/2 on 1 to 10 scale for overall value for high tuition costs."

"We have five young men growing up at Saint Philomena School. The principal is terrific. The staff of excellent teachers, administrators and assitants perform their jobs with pride and integrity in their efforts. The eighth grade teacher is extraordinary. The school's small size has some very distinct advatages of one-on-one attention and supervision. The upper grades mentor the lower grades as an older sibling may do with a younger brother or sister. The teachers know the children's names even beyond those in their own particular grades. The Catholic Tradition and Faith are stressed through out the School and Liturgical year. The Pastor is often visible on 'campus' as he hangs out with the students before and after school and during lunches and masses. Of the parochial schools in the area, Saint Philomena is number one!"

"I have three children in St. Philomena's and although we are not Catholic, it is a small school with a close knit community. There is lots of personal attention for the children and no one gets lost in the shuffle. I feel thankful to have such an affordable educational option for my children."
