"Small class sizes allow teachers to work more closely with their students and know when particular students may need additional help or resources."

"I feel that the school overall isn't as well structured as a school should be. Being a charter school I feel that they have free reign to do things differently and they often overstepped their bounds. The small classroom structure definitely aids the learning process a lot and there's some instructors who I think are perfect there. The environment for teachers is an odd because for some teachers they are better able to teach with more freedom and do different interactive activities that are difficult in larger schools. These instructors could easily be paid more at other institutions but they enjoy teaching and flourish at Coral. For other teachers I feel that they aren't scrutinized about their teaching methods and are privileged for no good reason. While I attended the school I didn't have many opportunities to join clubs or activities since we barely had any and the ones that we did were a joke until I had graduated. For years our volleyball club didn't compete and had less than 20 people even as a coed team. Now debate and boys basketball are thriving competitive teams but while I was attending there were no options. Of course I see the development and progress the school is making but personally I may have attended a different school for better opportunities. For courses there weren't many available. They had the bare necessities and much of the time you would get stuck with taking a very specific schedule because that class was only available that one period. So even if you were terrible at math but are brilliant at literature you would have to take AP math and risk failing to take the AP english course you wanted. The difficult scheduling really terrorized my grades and I wouldn't do that again. The really amazing thing is the smallness of the school gives you a family experience and you really get the attention and personal connection with students and instructors. It's different and really the main reason I chose to stay."

"CASLV is a high-quality school because of smaller class sizes and ability-based learning. My child has a learning disability and most of his teachers have been great at thinking of alternative solutions to help and genuinely care about his academic success."

"The quality of teachers at Coral Academy varied greatly. Some of my instructors were the best that I may ever have but some were lacking. A key downfall in the staff was that select teachers were brilliant and very knowledgeable but weren't always able to teach their knowledge well. Despite this, their degrees allowed them to remain unquestioned about their ability to teach. These are the teachers who would tend to communicate poorly to students what they wanted and consequently grades often suffered. Many of the teachers have very different teaching styles but the more veteran teachers had it down to an art and were always helping the newer teachers work on their own teaching style. For the most part all of the teachers were very involved in the students personal and academic lives and were concerned that we had the tools we needed to succeed in every aspect."
