    "Pros -Excellent student to teach ratio. -Creates special student/teacher relationships. -Approachable Faculty. -Strong Academics well rounded curriculum. -Well prepared for College. -School reputation helpful with College admission process. -Easily participate in athletics and extracurricular activities. -Easy for a student to have a voice and identity. -Quaker values aren t imposed on students. -Developed friends with classmates and know these relationships will last a lifetime. -Best education available on Long Island. Cons Tuition is ridiculously expensive. No education is worth what private schools charge. Your child could be equally well off attending an excellent public school and exposed to good parenting. -Competitive atmosphere, both socially and academically. Students very concerned with grades, performance and status. Believe this to be a product of Friend s socio-economic demographic. -Majority of student body lacks diversity. -Board of the directors and past head masters have demonstrated questionable leadership. They always need to be monitored."

    "Friends Academy has a very good reputation on long island mostly becuase it has been better than other schools in the past. This school is clearly resting on its Laurels and depends on its reputation rather than current output. There are definitely some problems with the faculty that the school ignores and there is a pretty serious problem with diversity at the school. A school this size should be doing a little bit better in the diversity department. As a parent coming from a north shore community where there is little diversity, I chose friends for the advertised diversity and when I got there, It was illusory. They could also improve on academics for all the money they charge parents. Its a good school but they need to work harder to make sure students are placed in good colleges and the teachers are more accessible. Also, too much teacher turnover."

    "Friends Academy provides an excellent environment in which you can learn, and is a refuge for those with creative minds and spirits. Racial diversity is great, considering that Long Island is 97% white, and economic diversity is improving, as the endowment is growing."

    "Friends Academy is an amazing place to go. Although many students complain about the school while they're going here, alumni usually come back to visit and thank all their teachers for providing them with such a great education. There's always something for students to do at Friends Academy; it's easy to find your own niche. The sports teams are very good, the Art's department is well-funded, and the academics are rigorous yet doable. Your teachers WANT to help you succeed, which is also a plus. The only complaint I have with the school is the lack of diversity, although that usually doesn't cause any tension between students."
