"My youngest child started at this school this past year. My older sons went to a highly regarded school in Gwinnett County. Comparing the two, I cannot tell you how impressed I am with this cluster of schools in Walton County. The administration and staff are wonderful. Your child is not just a number and they do all they can to see your child succeed. I also love the fact that discipline is enforced. Good discipline ensures that students are not being cheated out of learning because of distractions. The extra help afforded to students from the teachers is like nothing I have ever seen before. FANTASTIC SCHOOL!!!"

"I do agree about the funding issue- its really not fair how hard the WCS have been hit by the cuts. But even with all the strife of that, this school holds its collective head up high and my child(ren) excelled there."

"Youth middle school is amazing in it's approach to help students learn. Not only does the administration focus on academics, but discipline as well. I attended YMS, and I now I am a student at walnut grove high school. Without the foundation that yms gave me, i beleive I would be struggling in high school. I also played basketball for youth, and the athletics department was great, and really works well to help in areas you may be struggling in. I now play numerous sports at walnut grove, and again, youth was a great foundation for me. Also, there is a lot of school pride. Youth is fun, but also focuses sternly on your childs academics. I recomend this school for anyone."

"I am not a huge fan of this school. My child was a straight A student until she started here. Now we are lucky if she brings home a B. They are only concerned about THEIR numbers and could care less as to whether or not your child is actually learning anything. As long as they can memorize what they need to for the CRCT, their job is done. Some of the decisions they make are unbelieveable. A perfect example would be taking up the books a week before final exams (there was no final cramming using the books--luckily she had notes)."

"Today was the first day of school for my grand daughter. While on my way to work this morning I heard on the radio there had been an accident with a school bus right at the intersection where the school is. Being a grandparent I thought the worst and started making phone calls immediately. I reached the school and had to leave a message because the person in charge was on another line. I expected to get a call back but I never expected the response I got. The PRINCIPAL of the school called me back and she had already spoken to the Dept of transportation and she had called my grand daughter to the office to make certain she was ok.I feel like she went above and beyond and I really appreciated it. I look forward to a great relationship with this school for years to come."
